The Group entered the Turkish cement market in 1989 through the privatization programme launched by the Turkish State. This operation was the biggest
one-time foreign capital investment realized in Turkey at that time.

Today, the Turkish affiliate Set Group operates in the cement and ready-mixed concrete businesses.
Its 4 cement plants (Trakya, Afyon, Ankara and Balikesir) are ISO 9001:2000 certified.

In order to consolidate and enhance its presence in Turkey, the Group has made technical investments of around 400 million US dollars. A major part of this amount was allocated for modernization, automation and increase of efficiency as well as for the protection of environment.
