The transparent cement i.light® isn’t the only contribution of Italcementi Group to Shanghai Expo 2010.
Also the "smog-eating" cement TX Active®, developed by Italcementi Research department and successfully used all around the world, has been selected as an example of Italian innovation at the exhibition "Italia degli innovatori", promoted by the Ministry for Public Administration and Innovation of the Italian Government.
The temporary exhibition, open at the Italian Pavilion in Shanghai until August 7, aims to highlight the Italian originality and creativity, that our country continues to demonstrate over the years.

265 inventions have been selected out of 454 projects presented by several companies, universities and laboratories.
The exposed projects cover different sectors: construction, architecture and city planning (33 projects), environment (59), health (45), media and communication (26), mobility (25), e-government and citizen’s services (11), safety (14), heritage preservation (13), civil protection (6), other sectors (33).
The "smog-eating" cement TX Active ®, selected in the "construction" category, is a photocatalytic principle for cement materials. It can reduce organic and inorganic pollutants present in the air and offers extraordinary brilliance and “self-cleaning” proprieties.
Meetings and debates will take place throughout the exhibition period. Moreover, the most interesting innovation chosen by the public will be rewarded during a special ceremony on 2 August.
