Mr Jean-Paul Méric, Executive Vice President of Ciments Français (Italcementi’s subholding), has been appointed as President of CEMBUREAU for a two-year term at the Association's General Assembly held last June in Taormina, Italy. After having completed his mandate as Vice-President of the Association over the last two years, he takes over from Mr Paul Vanfrachem (Belgium).
On his election as President of CEMBUREAU, Mr Méric stated that “there will be a much needed continuity as CEMBUREAU will persevere in addressing the issues it is dealing with – especially climate change – as well as the many new ones that the EU is holding in reserve. At heart I am and I remain marked by my technological background and, if I may bring a contribution, I am convinced that it must be in this field.”
