On December the 1st , 2008 Invest Bulgaria Agency, the local investment promotion authority,  has handed for the third time its annual awards "Investor of the Year 2008" in the Central Military Club in Sofia.

The Vice-premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivaylo Kalfin, the Minister of Economy and Energy Petar Dimitrov, the Minister of Healthcare Dr. Evgenyi Zhelev, the Executive Director of Invest Bulgaria Agency Dr. Stoyan Stalev, the Ambassadors of Italy,  Belgium, Germany, France, Austria, Spain, Finland, Ireland, Japan, Korea, China etc., many chamber of commerce representatives, members of the Parliament, journalists, and investors attended the official ceremony.

Devnya Cement was awarded Investor of the Year for its overall operations and activities since Italcementi Group entered the Bulgarian market 10 years ago and for its New Investment Project – modern dry line factory.

The company has made the biggest industrial investment in Bulgaria (over 400 M BGN), for acquisition, renovation and modernization of Devnya Cement and Vulkan Cement plants.

Additional 600 M BGN are committed in the next 3 years for construction of the New Dry Line Project. The total amount of the investments done by the Group will exceed 1 billion BGN.
