Suez Cement is sponsoring, together with the Egyptian Company Orascom Telecom, a three-year project to support the expansion of the activities of the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Cairo.
The Don Bosco Institute has been founded in 1926, with the aim of helping Egyptian teenagers, holding a pre-school diploma, to enter the job market. It has always been regarded as a successful model, because of its combination of advanced practical training and updated educational technique.

The project financed by Suez Cement is mainly focused on upgrading infrastructure, providing equipment and facilities and designing new courses aimed at improving students' practical skills.

This sponsorship was presented on last 16 October, in an event organized by the Italian Embassy in Cairo to promote the joint efforts of the Italian and Egyptian private sector to support the Don Bosco Technical Institute activities.
The event was attended by the Minister of Industry, the Minister of High Education, the Deputy Governor of Cairo, as well as all the Don Bosco students and teachers.

During the event Mr. Roberto Callieri, Managing Director of Suez Cement, awarded 24 students, that had the chance to approach the world of cement in Suez Cement during last summer. The 51-day training program was divided into theoretical and on-the-job practical training and was dealing with important concepts such as Safety and Environment.
