Devnya Cement was a signature sponsor at the Junior Achievement Europe Enterprise Challenge held recently; the award presentation ceremony was attended by distinguished figures from the Bulgarian economic and political communities, including the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Boyko Borissov, the Minister of Regional Development & Public Works, Rosen Plevneliev, the Minister of Education, Youth & Science, Sergey Ignatov, and the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova.

JA-YE Europe (www.ja-ye.org) is Europe’s largest provider of entrepreneurship education programs, reaching more than 3 million students in 38 countries.
This year, more than 50 European students from 10 European countries competed for the title JA-YE Europe “Company of the Year”.
Their challenge was to sell their idea to a panel of potential “investors”, each of whom had a fictional 50,000 euro to spend.

The special Devnya Cement/Italcementi International Potential Award was given to the Norwegian company Top Safe for an innovative high-visibility safety jacket for work at heights, suitable for different work environments.
The award was presented by the general director of Devnya Cement AD, Alex Car, and the executive director for Human Resources & Communications, Valentina Grozdanova.

A significant factor in the choice of winner was adherence to the Italcementi Group social responsibility policy and sustainable development policy, for which worker safety is a top priority.

The Top Safe safety vest will be assessed for quality and applicability at Italcementi Group headquarters.
