Research and Innovation
Laboratories
Our laboratories have gained recognition of their strong commitment to R&D both locally and overseas. Such recognition has also allowed CTG to obtain European and national funding for specific research projects.

The CTG laboratories’ accreditation by ACCREDIA (Sistema Nazionale per l’Accreditamento dei Laboratori) in Italy and by COFRAC (Comité Français d’Accréditation) in France is a further proof of their competence and of the reliability of the tests they carry out.

Moreover, the metrological laboratory is accredited by SIT, the Italian Calibration Center. Such an important award is for Italcementi Group recognition of high quality on a national and international level considering the leading role that testing laboratories play in the assessment of products, plants, and systems & works quality.

As a confirmation that research
and innovation are key values for the Group, an important step is being made with the building of i.lab, the new pole around which will rotate the Group research activities on  construction. Designed by US architect Richard Meier, the new Research  and Innovation Center of Italcementi Group
will be approximately 23,000  m2 in total area. New photocatalytic
cements combined with the use of  solar panels, photovoltaic panels as
well as geothermal energy will   ensure the building’s compatibility with
 the principles of Sustainable  Architecture.

The center is set in the Kilometro Rosso Science and Technology Park - strategically located on the outskirts of Bergamo - which will be simultaneously  home to multidisciplinary research activities undertaken by private enterprises and public establishments.
