Italcementi Group respects and promotes diversity as a common ethical and social value. Its international expansion facilitates the exchange of experience and the creation of multicultural teams that are an important mechanism in the Group’s global approach to sharing best practice. For this reason the Group encourages international careers as a preferential route to positions of responsibility.
At Group level, the analysis of average salary for white collar employees shows that the ratio between women’s and men’s salaries is 99% for specialists and supervisors, and 87% for clericals. Even though the situation already reflects no significant salary gender-based discrepancies, the Group promotes equal opportunities between men and women and is acting to further reduce the possible salary differences between males and females of similar profile in all countries in which it operates.

Ensuring employee satisfaction
The application of socially responsible practices within the Group is also reflected by the great importance attached to employees’ perceptions and opinions. People are the heart and soul of the Company. Their values, their way of working and their way of thinking are at the very basis of its success. Italcementi Group considers it of utmost importance to understand its employees’ needs and expectations, to measure their feelings about their professional life, and to listen to their opinions in order to identify its future priorities towards them. It was decided in 2006 to launch an Employee Opinion Survey process throughout Italcementi Group.
